Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “Our parents and their parenting become our life.. we mention them at every step… ‘What would my parents have done in any/this/that/any situation?’ And the solution is right in your face… We are blessed that they, our parents, live among us with their blessings and love… I never keep them too far away from me… or any situation.”

Amitabh Bachchan was born to his legendary parents, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan. The veteran actor’s late mother was a social worker who also taught psychology in Lahore before independence. She passed away on December 21, 2007. Amitabh Bachchan’s late father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, was a poet and writer. He passed away on January 18, 2003. Teji Bachchan and Harivansh Rai Bachchan have two sons, Amitabh Bachchan and Ajitabh Bachchan.
